That morning, we had to get back on the road again direction: Uncasville. And even on a Saturday, we got jammed in traffic. So we arrived at the hotel at the last minute once again. There was a shuttle from our hotel to Mohegan Sun and the desk clerk told us we had to leave as soon as possible if we wanted to make sure to be there on time. Because we wanted to have dinner for our last Bon Jovi night, we prepared ourselves very quickly to be ready to leave the hotel at around 5:00 pm.
Mohegan Sun is a really special place. It’s a casino inside which there are stores, restaurants and hotels. There is even a 10 000-seat arena inside that building. After dinner, we got inside the arena. That night, our tickets were behind the stage because we had added this show to our itinerary at the last minute and our budget was limited. We were in section 28 row S, seats 13 and 14. When we got to our seats, we were pleasantly surprised to see that row S was first row!!! Wow!!! We were behind the stage but what a view we had!!! And the arena only had 10 000 seats. I told my friend “When Jon will come on the screens in front of us during We Got It Going On, I will not miss my chance to show him my banner”.
This time, when I heard the first notes of the intro, I told myself “It’s your last one of that tour, don’t be sad and enjoy the moment”. The first song was one that I really love: Last Man Standing. The complete set list for that night was:
▪ Last Man Standing;
▪ We Weren’t Born To Follow;
▪ You Give Love A Bad Name;
▪ Born to Be My Baby;
▪ Superman Tonight;
▪ Lost Higway;
▪ Whole Lot Of Leavin’;
▪ It’s My Life;
▪ The More Things Change;
▪ We Got It Going On;
▪ Bad Medicine / Pretty Woman / Shout Tease;
▪ Lay Your Hands On Me;
▪ (You Want To) Make A Memory;
▪ What Do You Go?;
▪ I’ll Be There For You;
▪ Someday I’ll Be Saturday Night;
▪ Who Says You Can’t Go Home:
▪ In These Arms;
▪ Livin’ On A Prayer:
Encore
▪ So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star:
▪ Blood On Blood;
▪ Wanted
After the first song, I just enjoyed the moment and danced on the music of my favourite band. When We Got It Going On started, I prepared my banner. Jon came behind the stage and started stepping on the screens one by one. The next-to-last screen was just in front of me and I was first row so there was nothing between Jon and me. When he jumped on the next-to-last screen, I showed him my banner, he saw it, he pointed at me and recognized me (or my banner) and gave me another smile that made me weak at the knees. Wow two smiles like that in less than 24 hours; it’s more than I had hoped for. I was really happy!!! Unfortunately, my friend was unable to capture the moment with her camera and I didn’t think of asking her to record it. A lady beside me asked me “Wow what does your banner say?” That made me realize that other people around me saw that the smile was intended to me!!!
I found a video of Jon pointed at me at 1:48:
I didn't think of asking my friend to take a picture of me with my banner but here is one taken before the February Montreal show :
Once again there were a lot of emotions during I’ll Be There For You. I had two videos of that song. The last one is the one with the extra verse:
I was pleasantly surprised to hear Livin’ On A Prayer as the last song before the encore. When the band came back on the stage for the encore, Jon dedicated “So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star” to his son Jacob for his birthday. I don’t know if he were there. I don’t even know if he wishes to become a rock star. If so and if he has his father’s talent, I’m not worried for his future.
The last song of the encore was Wanted and once again, this is really the moment when Richie’s absence was felt the most. We could really feel that Jon missed Richie.
When my loving band left the stage, I felt so strange, not sad but I don’t know how to explain the feeling. I had had so many magical moments in the last two days that I shouldn’t have been sad.
We are now three weeks after the end of this adventure, and I’m on a rollercoaster of emotions. One moment, I’m really happy of what I did and of what happened during my 2010/2011 tour (I saw 9 shows in less than one year and a half) and a lot of dreams came true. During other moments, I’m sad because I know it will take a long time before I see my favourite band live again. Two years seem an eternity but at the same time, I know they need a break and they deserve it. I only wish that I will not have to spend two years without hearing from the band and that there will be some organized Fan Club Events that I will be able to attend.
I would like to take the opportunity to thank the Fan Club for the excellent seats offered throughout this tour. I also want to thank Matt for all the work he has done for the Fan Club and the whole technical team who allows us to attend shows of exceptional quality. Thanks to Phil X, Hugh, Bobby, David, Tico and Richie for all the good times they gave me during this tour and a special thanks to Jon for all the precious memories. I will miss you for sure! I love you and always will!!!!
